Ballina Town FC is having a second registration evening on Tuesday, February 25th, from 7.30 pm to 9 pm.

Players must be registered before being allowed to take part in training sessions so don’t miss this opportunity to sign up.

Registration is open to boys and girls aged six (born 2013) and over of all abilities. If you’ve never played soccer before then no problem – just sign up, come along to training and enjoy yourself! (Please note that new members of the club must produce an original birth cert at registration.)

While exact start dates have not yet been revealed by the Mayo Schoolboys/Girls & Youths League, in line with other years competitions for U13, U15 and U17 boys will be starting in March, with competitions for U13 and U15 girls commencing a short while later – so it’s essential to register now.

Competitions for U12, U14, U16 and U18 boys, as well as U17 girls, will commence in the summer.

For academy players (U8/U10 boys and girls) there will be weekend training sessions, home and away games, and blitzes.

The following are the registration fees for 2020:

Academy U6-U10 (boys born 2011-2014 and girls born 2010-2014 – children must be a minimum of six years old upon registration): €70 x 1 child, €125 x 2 children, €160 x 3 or more children

Schoolgirls U13-U17 (born 2003-2009): €80 x 1 child, €145 x 2 children, €195 x 3 or more children

Schoolboys U12-U18 (born 2003-2010): €110 x 1 child, €190 x 2 children, €240 x 3 or more children

Family membership: €240

A few things to note:

Membership fees do not constitute profit for the club. Ballina Town FC is proud to have fine facilities at Belleek Park but the costs involved in maintaining the grounds are huge. Money raised through membership fees goes towards rates and water charges, electricity and heating costs, pitch and grounds maintenance (including tools/machinery), and legal and administration fees.

Additional costs include league registration fees for each player, insurance for each player, equipment for each team (footballs, bibs, cones, etc), and referee fees for every home game.

For the past few years Ballina Town has provided buses for away league and cup games in the county but it proved to be a loss-making exercise and is simply not sustainable, so the registration fee this year will not cover the cost of buses to away games. To reflect this, the registration fees have been altered slightly for 2020. If buses are required, payment will be collected on the day. Otherwise carpooling will be required for away games.
