CLUB STATEMENT
Ballina Town FC can confirm that first team manager Mark Beattie is stepping down from his role in an amicable parting of ways.
Mark has been involved in adult football as a player and manager since 2001, and during that time has won almost every honour available in Mayo.
The club would like to put on record its thanks to Mark for his unstinting efforts in taking charge of first team affairs for the past two years.
Under his management, Town were runners-up to Ballyheane in the Elverys Sport Super League in 2021 and 2022.
The team also reached the Westaro Super Cup final in both seasons, winning this year’s title with a 3-1 victory over Westport United in Solar 21 Park, Milebush, Castlebar.
A number of new players were introduced to the set-up during those seasons in what was a period of transition for the team.
Mark’s stint at the helm was complicated by Covid-19 but he dealt with the issues thrown up by the pandemic in a thoroughly professional manner.
He has been a long and loyal servant to the club, and all at Ballina Town FC wish him all the best in his upcoming endeavours and look forward to working with him again in the future.
The process to fill the vacant managerial position will begin immediately.
